Robin ’spanking’ Rihanna?

Monday, November 26th, 2007

rihannanrobin1.jpg

Singers Robin Thicke and Rihanna can say this year was full of happiness in their successful music careers. Robin recalls a time where he when Lost Without U were indeed a hit song– as two well known celebrities told him beforehand long before its release. Rihanna, on the hand, immediately didn’t believe Umbrella is such a catchy song after hearing a brief recording of it .

GQ Magazine has an interesting interview on these two from Rihanna’s finding her signature look to Robin turning down offers he did refuse.

Click here to read the article.

By the way, I had to say Robin looks stiff like a Ken doll in the ’spanking’ picture. And I wonder if Rihanna rethink her decision of taking those type of pics with Robin.

Timberlake is up for male artist in the Pop/Rock section, while his album ‘FutureSex/Lovesounds’ features in both the Pop/Rock and Soul/Rhythm and Blues categories.

Beyoncé could be crowned female artist in both the Pop/Rock and Soul/Rhythm and Blues sections, while her album ‘B’Day’ features on the Rhythm and Blues shortlist.

Linkin Park and Daughtry, the band fronted by former ‘American Idol’ contestant Chris Daughtry, also received three nominations.

Daughtry face stiff competition from Norah Jones and John Mayer in the Adult/Contemporary category.

The band will battle it out with the Plain White T’s and ‘Lost Without U’ star Robin Thicke to be named New artist in the Breakthrough section. Nominees were initially selected based on their record sales, then whittled down after 15,000 members of the US public were asked to pick their top three artists in each section.

Robin working on third album

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

robin111.jpg

After the commercial success of his sophomore album, Robin Thicke has already planned on creating a third one, MTV Canada reported. Thicke tells MTV about his need of a break from writing and his excitement over the new album in the works.

I have a vault of music, and I half about half a new album that I’m excited about. Besides that I realize that I been writing songs for about fourteen year’s straight. And I would really like to take a couple months off of not writing songs. I just want to take a break for a few months.

For the past summer, the singer has been an opening act at the Beyonce Experience Tour. Recently he played a few shows overseas but will be back in the U.S for a concert Saturday in Atlantic City New Jersey.

After all the promoting and touring, Robin definitely deserves a much needed rest.

As I forgot to mention, E! news announced that today is the one-year anniversary of the release of the CD, The Evolution of Robin Thicke! A great album by the way, that truly shown the talent and art of this musicial genius.

Eve’s album ‘Here I Am’ postponed until 2008

Monday, October 1st, 2007

eve.jpg

Robin Thicke has taken off to a good start since The Evolution of Robin Thicke released last year. Apparently the artists he recently collaborated with has a quite few hassles– 50 Cent pushed his album, ‘Curtis’ back twice, a major outrage with the release of his video, Follow My Lead (were unbeknownst to him) and selling less albums than his competitor, Chicago rapper Kanye West. Now Eve’s anticipated album, Here I Am is facing the same problem (except videos is not secretly linked out to the public without her knowledge, of course). Eve talks about her delayed album in this Billboard article.

Eve’s new album, Here I Am, has been pushed back once again, and is now due in 2008. The first single from the CD, “Tambourine,” has already been spinning on the radio for a while, and a new track, “Give It to Me” featuring Sean Paul, has been at radio for several weeks. It was previously reported that Robin Thicke, T.I. and Dr. Dre all contributed to Eve’s new work. “I wrote this album after a breakup,” Eve told Billboard in June. “So it’s very ‘Look who’s single’ and flirty. I wanted to make a happy, good summer album that you can play when you’re getting ready for the club.” Here I Am will be Eve’s first album since 2002’s Eve-olution.

On one of her tracks, Eve’s song Fantasy features Robin– the two performed the song together at a show in New York in August. The single is yet to be released.

Thicke wants more

Friday, September 28th, 2007

thicke11.jpgRobin Thicke is happy with his success, but he wants what most male singers experienced when on stage. London-based newspaper, Mirror UK reveals what it is.

Some people are never happy. Soul singer Robin Thicke sang with Pharrell at the Mobos, then had dinner with Naomi Campbell - but he wants more.

The Lost Without U singer, 30, enjoyed a sell-out gig at London’s Koko club on Monday.

But when we bumped into him afterwards, he told us: “You’ve made it when the crowd start throwing their panties at you on stage.

“That didn’t happen tonight, but hopefully next time!”

Does his wife know?
